Phillipsburg Rodeo Association Scholarships


The 2021-2022 recipients of the annual Phillipsburg Rodeo Association scholarships are Brent Hornbuckle and Kamryn Smith.

Hornbuckle, who will graduate in May of 2022 from Ft. Hays State University with degrees in Agronomy, Agronomy Business, and Animal Science.

A resident of Ottawa, Kansas, Brent is a team roper and tie-down roper on the Ft. Hays rodeo team and is the son of Scott and Sara Hornbuckle.


Smith, a resident of Linn, Kansas, is pursuing a degree in agriculture business with a minor in accounting. She competed in junior high and high school rodeo.

She is the daughter of Ron and Kami Smith.

Each year since 1996 the Phillipsburg Rodeo Association has awarded two $500 scholarships to Ft. Hays State rodeo athletes. Since the association began awarding scholarships, over $25,000 has been given to deserving rodeo athletes.
